2010 Chrysalis Award
Monmouth Custom Builders was named a winner at the seventeenth annual Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence in the category “Whole House Remodel Over $1 Million.” The winning submission was based on a residential project in Allenhurst, New Jersey. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
The historic renovation project required approval by the Borough of Allenhurst before work began on-site. The Borough was impressed with the homeowner’s plans to restore the house built circa 1905 to its prior glory and character. With the town’s approval in hand, Monmouth Custom Builders went to work gutting the house. The original front door, foyer floor and coffered ceiling were retained for the renovation. Monmouth Custom Builders worked closely with the homeowner to assure historical accuracy whenever possible. The home features custom 3/4″ plank flooring, light carrera marble in one of the bathrooms, restored stained glass windows and ornate exterior mouldings and trim, replicated down to the finest detail with rot-resistant PVC.
Monmouth Custom Builders was featured on Remodeling’s Big 50 in 2009. They were awarded #1 in the Business Savvy category.
